Kodak ScanMate i1150 review | Kodak ScanMate i1150 is a desktop document scanner designed to capture up to 3,000 pages per day. This is a chunky device about the size of a standard desk phone, connect to a PC via USB only. With a top speed of 25 pages per minute and duplex (two-sided) catch, it is a competitor to the Canon imageFORMULA DR-C125 and DR-C130 scanner and Epson’s new WorkForce DS-510.
While the i1150 is not attractive, no matter-of-factness specific to the design. It’s yellow, save for a few rounded corners, and while most competitors use paper output them as a dust cover when not in use, here is just a simple input and output trays expand. Both are solid, however, and provide adequate support for A4 paper, even though the top input tray is reluctant to extend the sample we reviewed.
The scanner lid is released via a lever big, round to the front with a little more than 45 degrees to provide more space to remove all paper jams and clean the mechanism if necessary. Plastic lined paper path, as we would expect on a scanner at this price, but the transport using very high quantities of the roller, which, in theory, should maximize the reliability and reduce the ballots. There is a twin contact image sensor (CIS) to capture both sides of a page in a single pass, and the LED light source for each to eliminate the heating times.
